Pulse Wave Velocity is the measurement of arterial stiffness or the rate at which pressure wave’s move down the vessel. Studies show that measuring aortic pulse wave velocity and central blood pressure provides a greater indication of potential heart attack and stroke than the blood pressure value taken on the upper arm alone.
