Melag Autoclave installation requirements

VENTILATION. Set up the autoclave in a dry and dustproof location. The air humidity should be 30% to 60% and the ambient temperature 16° to 26 °C. Temperatures above 26°C will lead to lack of reliability to achieve vacuum level & create malfunctions.

SERVICE ACCESS. There must be room for the Service Technician to service the unit. When locating the unit remember that it must be able to be turned sideways for servicing & that the technician will need to work on the unit at least yearly.

BENCH CONSTRUCTION. The bench that the unit is mounted on must be sturdy in construction so that it will not sag over time due to the weight of the steriliser. Remember that when the unit is operating there can be an additional 8-10 kilograms of weight due to the water in the unit. Melag sterilisers must be set up with the correct angle to ensure reliable performance. Items such as filing cabinets are not benches.

SERVICES. When services such as water, drainage are required these must be supplied by other trades to within 1.5 meters of the unit. All Melag connections for water require 20mm BSP Male Iron threads on the outlet side of the isolating valves. Drainage, we cannot use the spigot on a drain from the sink for water ring (liquid) vacuum pumps due to the noise from the outlet of the pump. See below for details of the drain pipe connection required in Australia.

CYCLE RECORDING. All Melag units can download their cycle records to the Melag printer, CF card or be networked to the customer's computer via Melaview or Melasoft. There are different combinations available & it is best to talk to one of our trained staff for guidance
